State Gaming Laws
Delaware started limited sports betting on September 1st, 2009 and state revenues are exceeding expectations. Delaware is the first state to break the monopoly held by Nevada and is appealing a court decision to limit this form of wagering. As the Governor of Massachusetts, Christy would urge the Massachusetts state government to join this lawsuit and simultaneously direct the Massachusetts Washington, D.C. office to lobby the U.S. Congress to change federal laws that limit sports betting which deprives states of desperately needed revenues and causes unnecessary law enforcement expenditures.
Christy supports slot machines at the three Massachusetts' racetracks: Raynham, Suffolk Downs/Wonderland and Plainridge.
